Are you haunted by perfectionism? Do you feel things need to look in a particular way? Then this episode of the Get Inspired With Gurds podcast is for you!
Let’s face it, perfectionism is a b***h!
It makes us cranky and suddenly we become obsessive, over the fine detail.
The amount of times I used to delete articles or essays, because one line or word didn’t look right, meh!
Luckily, those days have gone. I’m more about living in the flow and being present. However perfectionism affects many of us.
It’s a fast enduring track to unhappiness, and perfectionism is often related with depression and eating disorders.
During my time at university, I became obsessed with perfecting things, including my body to the point, I no longer recognised myself in the mirror, *shakes head*.
What makes perfectionism so toxic is that it’s heavily focused on avoiding failure, and therefore is a negative view point on life.
This weeks guest is an expert in living positively. Gary Van Warmerdam is the creator of PathwayToHappiness.com, who combines lessons from changing beliefs from negative thoughts, emotions to behaviours.
He’s the author of Mind Works: a practical guide to changing thoughts
and emotional reactions, and believes we can all lead a happy life through the power of self-mastery.
Gary also talks his 5 top tips in how to transform your life and live with more flow. He explains how to make peace with perfectionism and trust your gut.
Now we’d love to hear from you.
